What is CKD martial art?
CKD is a striking style martial art similar to Taekwondo and Karate, although it is a 21st century evolution where all movements have been developed according to scientific principles. Rather than sparring to score points as in Sport Karate or Taekwondo, our CKD martial art programs focus on self defence.
Our CKD martial arts program teaches practical self defence with specialised methods to make it easy for kids to follow and pick up. Similar to Karate, Taekwondo, Kung Fu and Kickboxing, CKD is a striking style, however it is unique in that it is based on modern science. CKD emphasises non-competitiveness and compassion as core values in class and as part of a healthy lifestyle.

In contrast to traditional kids martial arts programs like what would normally be seen in Taekwondo classes or Karate classes for kids, our program uses skill games to make the training drills both enjoyable and productive. These skill games are not as fun as recreational games, but our message to the students is that “this is a construction site, not a playground”. We have a zero tolerance to bad attitude and messing around. Students can either enjoy learning or take time out. Train body and mind while learning a life skill!
